Album Description Norah has taken a new direction on the The Fall, experimenting with different sounds and a new set of collaborators, including Jacquire King, a noted producer and engineer who has worked with Kings of Leon, Tom Waits and Modest Mouse. Jones enlisted several songwriting collaborators, including Ryan Adams and Okkervil River's Will Sheff, as well as her frequent partners Jesse Harris & Richard Julian. Musicians include drummers Joey Waronker (Beck, R.E.M.) and James Gadson (Bill Withers), keyboardist James Poyser (Erykah Badu, Al Green), and guitarists Marc Ribot (Tom Waits, Elvis Costello) and Smokey Hormel (Johnny Cash, Joe Strummer). The first single/video is for the album's lead track 'Chasing Pirates'.

Norah's latest September 5, 2010 Music lover (Florida) For those of you who enjoy a well rounded husky, sexual voice this one is a very good choice. I have her other CD's and think she improves the quality of her vocal reach each time.
huge disappointment August 30, 2010 J. Williams (Arkansas) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I expected much more from Nora Jones. The turn-off is with the very first piece on the CD. The band sounds like something a bunch of high school freshmen would put together in a garage. There is absolutely no "musicality" to it. I couldn't listen even through the first number. I should have read other reviews first!
A very good album August 26, 2010 Kurt A. Johnson (North-Central Illinois, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Norah Jones is quite an interesting new talent who captured my attention with her first major album, Come Away With Me. The Fall has a slightly different sound, but still presents Norah as the great singer and musician that she is. all of the tracks are very good, though I must admit to preferring December, Chasing Pirates, and especially Man of the Hour.
This is a very good album, one that I really enjoy listening to. Give yourself a treat, and buy yourself this album. You won't be disappointed!
Love songs!!!!!!....boring... July 10, 2010 tangldupnblue (Illinois) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
My title pretty much sums it up, though I did hear the distortion one reviewer mentioned.
Women...and their love songs!!! This is why I am so bored by women singers. They have to have something more important to write about then lost love. Almost EVERY EFFing song. BORING!!!!!
Pretty though. The last song I can identify with. All she's left with is her dog..."to be her man". Take it from me that is boring too.
A Come-Down For Blue Note: No Stars June 13, 2010 Mr. Louis P. Toscano (Hackettstown, NJ) 0 out of 6 found this review helpful
Even though I own two of Ms. Jones albums, having just seen her on Good Morning America, where they have no blog of their own, I say that, from her appearance, she is out of character with her record label's rich legacy of archived performers such as Jimmy Smith and Mr. Cole. Wherever Ms. Jones belongs, Blue Note can do better. No, she is not bad, but disappointing considering her connection to Blue Note.
